Woman dies after two-vehicle collision on A361 in Banbury

A woman died in a two-vehicle collision yesterday (Friday August 28) on the A361 in Banbury.

The collision occurred on the A361 between Banbury and Wardington around 5.30pm.

Thames Valley Police are looking for witnesses to the fatal collision in Banbury.

A pink Fiat 500, travelling towards Daventry and a dark coloured Mercedes CLA, travelling towards Banbury, were involved in a collision.

Sadly the driver of the Fiat 500, a woman in her 20s, died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Mercedes and the passenger, who are both female, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigating officer PC Tony Lee, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing department based at Bicester, said: “This is a collision in which sadly a woman in her twenties has died. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

“We are carrying out an investigation and we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have dash cam footage of the collision to please get in touch.”
