Update - villages around Deddington have power restored
A number of villages in the area between Deddington, Bicester and Dun's Tew that were without power for some hours this morning (Monday) have had their supplies reconnected.
Scottish and Southern Electricity called in engineers to what they said may have been a broken cable.
The villages of Deddington, Aynho, Clifton, Souldern, North Aston, Middle Aston, Fritwell, Somerton and Dun's Tew were known to have been cut off but have had power restored.
It is understood around 500 homes and businesses were affected.
