Colin, aged 76, passed away on September 21 after a short battle with cancer. Colin served as a volunteer with Radio Horton for more than 30 years. He also served as a trustee for the charity.

Colin was the loving husband of Judith, a much-loved dad to Sam and Ingrid, father in law of Jon and a loved 'grampy' to Milsy, Anya and Theo.

A much loved character both on and off air, Colin was best known under his on-air pseudonym, Eddie B, hosting his programme, Eddie B’s Memory Jogger on a Thursday evening.

Colin was quoted on the charity's website and said: "For me, it is about the music. I play music from the 1930’s through to current chart hits. I’m “jazz-dance” and anything that fits the above bill, I try to get a balance of orchestral, bands, solo singers, etc."

In 2018, Colin was presented his Long Service Certificate from the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) recognising his 30 plus years of service, by HBA President June Snowden.

In 2017, Colin reflected on his experience in a Radio Horton press release during Volunteers’ Week.

He said: "My inspiration (for getting involved in Radio Horton) was to share with others, my love for all types of music. I hope this will enlighten and bring a few minutes relief to patients within the Horton Hospital. The difference it has made for me, is making new friends and socialising with them away from the studio environment. At the end of the day, we all have the same passion – to think about patients less fortunate than ourselves."

Colin’s funeral service was held on Friday October 16 at Banbury Crematorium.

There is an opportunity to make donations in Colin’s memory to Blood Cancer UK and or Radio Horton, which may be sent via www.eddfrostanddaughters.co.uk or by post c/o: Edd Frost & Daughters Family Funeral Directors, 14 Canada Close, Banbury, OX16 2RT.

A spokesperson for the Radio Horton charity said: "Colin will be dearly missed by all of us. On behalf of the committee of Radio Horton, we would like to convey our deepest condolences with Colin’s wife, Judith and their family at this very sad time."
