The Shutford Festival which would normally have taken place in June, has decided to stage such an event on Saturday October 3.

The Drive-in Festival has been created as a safe space, for music fans who have had their summer festival plans cancelled, to enjoy some amazing live acts in a new and special way.

There will be social bubble outdoor dedicated areas, 2 metres apart, allocated to all ticket holders with or without a car.

Shutford Festival organiser Rita Livesey said: “We wanted to put an event on that was in the first instance safe, so we looked into the possibility of a ‘drive-in’ event.

"We all love live events, so a ‘drive-in’ event seemed to be the perfect answer. Not only do we get to go to a live music event, with some great bands lined-up, but also our suppliers whom we booked back in June, are able to receive some well-deserved income which is very important for them to sustain their business during this difficult time.”

The event will be held from 4 to 10.30pm on Saturday October 3.

Attendance is by ticket only and numbers will be limited. Tickets went on sale this weekend yesterday, Saturday August 1, for the autumn event.

Tickets are £12 per person and must be purchased in advance. Children under the age of 12 are free.

In addition to the music festival, Shutford will also be running its very own ‘Trail Race’ 5k and 10k on the same day.

Rita added: "Like lots of events, our summer festival was cancelled, but we decided to try and still stage another event, social distancing guidelines being followed. We are hoping that not just our village but villages around will come along and have a great evening of live music."
