Ribbon is cut to officially open the new Banbury Sainsbury's store
With its Halloween display colourfully staged in the window, the new Sainsbury's Local store in Warwick Road will provide a new grocery service to the Ruscote and Hardwick areas of town.
It has created 12 new jobs and offers a 'convenient range of grocery products and fresh foods'. Store bosses say they hope to play an active role in the community.
The shop will be open from 7am - 11pm Monday to Sunday. As well as fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products and other convenience goods, the store has its own fresh bakery, a Costa coffee machine and Click and Collect for Argos and Tu clothing.
Sainsbury’s Local in Banbury will also play an active role in the local community including supporting Banbury Foodbank as well as Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes.
Vikash Patel, Sainsbury’s Banbury Warwick Road Local Store Manager said at the opening: “We know how important it is for the community to have convenient access to fresh food and grocery products and we’re thrilled to welcome customers through the doors from today.”
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Property Director said: “We’re very proud to open this store to our customers and are confident residents and visitors will enjoy this convenient new store that offers fresh food and convenient products alongside Sainsbury’s renowned customer service. Thank you to everyone involved in getting this store ready for customers.”
