Firefighters from Bicester, Wheatley and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to a gyrocopter which crashed landed in a field near Wendover (Buckinghamshire) on Monday May 31.

Upon arrival crews found the pilot and passenger out of the gyrocopter, which was on its side, when they arrived. Firefighters used a medical kit to treat both men for minor cuts, and isolated the gyrocopter’s fuel system.

One appliance and crew from Bicester (on standby in Aylesbury), one from Amersham and an officer attended the crash.

A number of other appliances and officers were initially mobilised but stood down before they arrived.
