The elderly patient died at the George Eliot hospital in Nuneaton and was “being treated for a number of serious underlying health conditions”.
Two people with coronavirus have now died in the Midlands with eight having died across the UK.
According to Public Health England there have been seven confirmed cases of coronavirus in Coventry and Warwickshire.
