North Oxfordshire’s MP Victoria Prentis announces winner of children's Christmas card competition
Nicholas Watts, 10, submitted a brilliant design of a donkey and Baby Jesus in the stable, which is the front of Victoria’s Christmas cards this year.
During her visit Victoria answered questions about life as an MP. The visit was timely, as it also gave Victoria the opportunity to ask students how they had found school this year given coronavirus, and their plans for Christmas.
Victoria said: “It was great to catch up with the year six’s. I was particularly impressed to learn that teachers at Queensway are trialling online learning, so if another lockdown occurs and schools have to close, lessons can be live streamed from home.
"This again highlights the tireless work of schoolteachers throughout the pandemic, to ensure that school students stay on top of their studies and learning.
"Congratulations to Nicholas for winning my Christmas card competition, his design was truly fantastic. A big well done to my Runner Ups, Emily from Bure Park Primary School, and Nathalie and Felicity from St John’s R.C. Primary School.”
