Some of the 'trapped traffic' from an incident involving a HGV which crossed over the carriageway is currently being eased as of late this afternoon, Wednesday January 27.

The incident involving the HGV occurred on the M40 between the Banbury junction and the Bicester junction.

The incident caused the south bound lanes of travel from Banbury to Bicester to close, according to Highways England.

Authorities are now releasing the 'trapped traffic' past the scene using one lane of the motorway.

According to Highways England, there was a second incident at the southbound entry slip road involving an overturned vehicle near the Banbury junction 11 of the motorway.

The traffic delays for the southbound entry slip road are expected to clear by 7pm today, Wednesday January 27.
