Two students also won trophies for scoring the highest marks – Jamie Shotton aged 11, for the highest mark in the open lyrical category and Luther Adkins, aged eight, for the highest mark in the novice cabaret category.

Five students; Keeley Thompson aged 17, Darcey Boardman aged ten, Luther Adkins, Jamie Shotton and Carys Brown, aged 13, all qualified for the finals by receiving the highest placement in their solo category.

After performing one dance against all other winners of their age group across all disciplines, one of our students, Luther, won the Junior Championship Trophy.

Dance school principal, Charlotte Harris, said: "I am so incredibly proud of all our students at Starlight amazing achievements at Central England including our boy Luther to win the junior championships overall.

"It was the best I had seen them danced and they really did shine and do us proud.

"Congratulations to all of them and a massive thank you to the continuous support from parents."
