The Friends of Kineton Primary School have organised a treasure hunt using the free app What3words.

Clues to the treasure hunt are all walking distance from Kineton with some in Little Kineton and nearby Butlers Marston.

To get started you just use the free what3words app to find the locations of letters around the village and local area before unscrambling them to reveal a secret three word phrase.

The worksheets for the treasure hunt can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ufpDupXPEDtvSFdsERJDlWkMSWjpjMxZ/view?usp=sharingAll members of the local community are welcome to participate. Just return your entry from, in an envelope, to the school post box or the Kineton Post Office by September 4.

All correct entries submitted before the deadline will be eligible for a prize during random drawing at the start of the school term in September.

There is a suggested donation of £2.

The treasure hunt was organised after the cancellation of the summer fete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Penny Harris, a village resident and parent at Kineton Primary School, said: "It’s good fun. It's a good excuse to get the children out for a walk and explore our village without costing the earth or going anywhere too crowded in the current climate.

"It works for all ages as the little ones enjoyed looking at the letters and the older ones enjoyed finding the locations on the app. The app is a giggle at what three words are for the area."
