Kineton school boy, father and family friend raise more than £1,100 for charity in 'Brave the Shave' challenge

Nine-year-old Harry Horton had his head shaved in memory of his best friend's grandfather.
Harry said: "I’ve been growing my hair for quite a while and instead of just cutting my man bun off I would like to raise money for a good cause, and my best friend Sam's granddad, Martin Poole, who sadly died of cancer."

Harry, his father, Michael, and family friend, Warren Nicholl, all took part in the 'Brave the Shave' challenge on Sunday November 1, and had their heads shaved at the Kineton Sports and Social Club.
Micheal and Warren took turns allowing people shave rows of their hair off at £2 per row, including some of the children who gathered around to watch. An opportunity to cut off Harry's pony tail was sold for £5.
By the end of the shaving challenge the trio had raised more than £1,100 for the cancer support charity through two fundraising web pages and donations during the shaving challenge.

Warren said: "My father died of brain cancer in 2013, and the help and support that Macmillan nurses gave us, predominantly my aunty Beryl was nothing short of amazing. They gave her time off from what became full time care."
Both Warren and Harry would like to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.
