Information wanted after man suffers life-threatening injuries in Chipping Norton collision

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision which has left a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred after a white Peugeot van was travelling on the A361 from the Burford direction into Chipping Norton when it collided with a wall and a telegraph pole.

The incident also happened at the junction with Charlbury Road at 9.47pm on Monday March 3.

The collision caused the vehicle to overturn and the driver was left with serious injuries and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a critical condition.

Investigating officer PC Naomi Hames of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Bicester, said: “This appears to be a single vehicle collision which has sadly left the driver of the van with very serious injuries.

“I am appealing to anybody that was driving in the area at around 9.45pm on Monday who believes that they witnessed this collision to please contact police.

“I am also keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam footage of the incident to get in touch.
