Hook Norton Brewery to take over bar service at popular Banbury area music festival
Hook Norton Brewery will take over supplying real ales and more at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, the band’s annual music festival in August.
Fairport Convention has announced Oxfordshire-based Hook Norton Brewery will be supplying their celebrated range of real ales to the bar at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, the band’s annual music festival in August.
Fairport’s Cropredy Convention will take place on August 12, 13 and 14 (subject to government guidance and rules) at Cropredy.
Hook Norton takes over from long-standing supplier Wadworth Brewery of Devizes. Festival Organiser Gareth Williams said: “We want to thank Wadworth for the many years of great support they have given our festival.
“Now we are delighted to announce the new collaboration with Hook Norton Brewery. Not only is the company renowned for great beer but it’s barely a dozen miles away - almost on our doorstep.
"Hook Norton is a family-run business and has been going for 172 years. Their products have a fantastic reputation with ale-drinkers, and we look forward to welcoming their team to Cropredy’s arena field this year.
“Real ale has always been a huge part of our festival so Hook Norton’s involvement is great news for all the beer-drinkers in the Cropredy crowd.
"We are always keen to use local suppliers whenever possible and with Hook Norton being so close, the bar will never run dry.
"What’s more, Hook Norton’s horse-drawn dray is just a trot away, and it will put in appearances at the festival – a must for the kids and everyone with a love of tradition.”
James Clarke, managing director of Hook Norton Brewery, said: "We are delighted to be partnering Fairport’s Cropredy Convention. It has been one of my aims to supply this festival ever since I started work at Hook Norton and 30 years on, here we are.
“Cropredy is a great fit for Hooky. It is a great opportunity to slake people’s thirst with our ales; hopefully the combination of excellent music and excellent beer will be accompanied by excellent weather."
A bar is much more than just the beer it sells of course so Fairport Convention is also pleased to announce that the regular bar crews from Yorkshire and Wiltshire will be manning the pumps.
