It was a story that brightened up the day for many of our readers – and we can now bring you even more of the story.
We were contacted by Anne-Marie who discovered we had done the story and said, as Sam’s owners, they were ‘over the moon’.

"I was a bit lost and wondered if they had the right person, that's when she said, ‘You have a grey cat called Sam’.
"I said yes but he went missing the day we moved house six years ago and we hadn't seen him since.

“He is 16 years old now and he has lost a lot of weight, and has a mass in his abdomen which, being his age, we have been advised to leave it as he isn't in pain and is very happy.
"We don't know how long he has but he is back where he belongs - but what is more amazing is that as soon as we called his name he meowed at us and gave us lots of love and purred.”
