Firefighters rescue woman stuck in mud while on countryside walk in South Northamptonshire

Firefighters from Brackley and The Mounts Fire Station in Northampton responded to reports of woman being stuck in some mud in the middle of Bucknell Woods near Silverstone. The incident happened around 1.35pm yesterday (Tuesday March 9).

The women had been out walking her dog before the route become unexpectedly muddy, and she found that both legs were trapped in deep mud.

A spokesperson for the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Luckily the woman had her mobile phone on her, and was able to call us for assistance. Once she was located, firefighters used manual assistance to help release her from the deep mud."

Firefighters checked that there was no obvious sign of injuries, and the women was able to walk away before fire crews left the scene at 2.19pm.

A technical rescue vehicle from Mereway in Northampton also responded to the incident along with the appliances from Brackley and Northampton.
