Family fun fair returns to Banbury this weekend

Banbury area residents can enjoy a sense normalcy with the return of the family fun fair this weekend.

Hatwell's FunFair has returned to Princess Diana Park in Bretch Hill, Banbury

The fair started last night and continues through the weekend. The fair's operating hours are from 5 to 9.30pm Friday, 1 to 9.30pm Saturday and 1 to 7pm on Sunday June 27.

Organiser Kerry Williams, a member of the Hatwell’s family, said: “My family has been doing fairs in Banbury for over 40 years. We missed last year due to Covid, and we're really glad to be back.

"We're doing a promotion. Anyone with a a NHS badge or ID can ride for free. We thought it'd be a nice thing to do as they've been on the front lines."

The funfair offers a variety rides from bumper cars to the Twister along with game stalls. People can also enjoy some popular fair food from a beef burger to candy floss.

Due to Covid the organisers have added a new cashless system to enjoy the rides replacing it with a token system.

The fun fair's organisers have also put Covid safety measures in place to follow all the Government guidelines.

Kerry added: "We've got a lot of things in place for Covid. We've got hand sanitiser stations throughout the fair, and as we all know outdoor events are the safest right now."
