New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the number of coronavirus deaths during the three month period from March to May, which were released today, Friday June 12.

Of the three main Cherwell District towns Banbury had the lowest number of deaths for the three month period.

Kidlington North had the highest number for the Cherwell area with 17 Covid-19 deaths from March to May, compared to 36 deaths from all causes. The Caversfield, Ambrosden and Fringford areas of Bicester had the second highest in the district with 14 Covid-19 deaths over the three month period compared to 47 deaths from all causes.

The Grimbury area of Banbury had the highest number for the Banbury area with 11 Covid-19 death for the three-month period compared to 39 deaths from all causes.

The second highest number for the Banbury area came from the Adderbury, Bloxham and Bodicote areas with eight Covid-19 deaths over the three-month period compared to 36 deaths from all causes from March to May.

Banbury Calthorpe: four Covid-19 deaths compared to to 13 deaths from all causes from March to May.

Banbury Hardwick: four Covid-19 deaths compared to 13 deaths from all causes from March to May.

Deddington, Heyfords and Steeple Aston: three Covid-19 deaths compared to 17 deaths from all causes from March to May.

Hook Norton, Milcombe and Sibford: one Covid-19 death compared to 11 deaths from all causes from March to May.
