At Bodicote Scout Hut last Wednesday, July 6, five new Guides were enrolled into the 1st Bodicote Guide troop and Guider Wendy Stephenson was awarded her 30 year volunteer in Girlguiding award. Wendy and Lorraine Golding started the Bodicote Rainbows so that their daughters could have a pack to join.

Wendy moved onto being a Guider seven years later and has been a mainstay of the unit ever since.

A colleague said: “Wendy usually quartermasters at their camps and is well known for her hot chocolate with squirted cream and marshmallows. She has been to sleepovers at I Can Do, Olive House and Our Chalet in Switzerland twice and activities like sailing, archery, and backwoods craft.

"The next weekend away will be later in the summer at Youlbury, where Wendy will be first aider. Her eldest granddaughter was one of the guides who took her promise last week.”
