Florist Marcelli Proctor says her shop, FloralCelli, in Timms Road is going from strength to strength even though she had to close just eight weeks after opening when the second UK-wide lockdown was imposed.

Marcelli, who has 20 years experience in the industry, quickly launched an online shop and unveiled new creative offerings for Christmas.

Online orders are being taken with same-day delivery across Banbury, Bicester and the surrounding villages for those placed before noon.

And free parking outside the shop also helps customers collect their orders.

She said: “Naturally I wondered whether I should launch the shop at such a precarious time, but I’ve had a lot of friendly support from the local community.

“My friends and family have also been happy to lend a hand in getting the shop ready for business, and I have access to a team of experienced florists who I can call on when needed. Flowers are always a great way to lift people’s day, and there have been some really heart-warming moments this year delivering flowers to people experiencing hard times. I’ve also operated creatively within people’s budgets, working closely with customers to produce what they want at a competitive price.”

Marcelli has created bespoke floral designs for occasions from weddings and funerals to Formula 1 and corporate events, decorating venues across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and beyond.

In particular, she has created a living flower wall at Soho Farmhouse and she works with clients to create striking arrangements in the spirit of the event.

FloralCelli also offers items such as chocolates, cuddly toys, balloons, vases and gift cards.

Marcelli hopes to offer workshops for wreath-making, bouquets and other arrangements next year, but for this Christmas, customers can still purchase wreaths to decorate their homes.

Marcelli will reopen her new shop to the public on December 2.
