Bargain hunters’ joy as iconic car boot sale returns to Finmere

Eagle-eyed treasure hunters will be rubbing their hands with glee at the imminent return of Finmere’s giant car boot sale.

The iconic airfield venue, loved by thousands of bargain seekers, reopens with social distancing measures on Saturday, July 11.

A spokesman said: “We have had so many people emailing and phoning us to find out when it was opening.

“They have been stuck at home for three months and have got loads of bits and pieces they want to get rid of. The main thing is to get open and let them enjoy themselves.

“It will be a good time to get a bit of vibrancy back in the air - it’s what the country needs.”

Spread over 10 acres of hardstanding, Finmere Car Boot is perfect for social distancing.

Walkways will be extended and there will be sanitisers and masks available on the entrances.

Customers will be advised not to bend down and pick things up unless they are going to buy.

Traders and customers will be asked to sanitise their hands every time a sale is made.

Finmere Car Boot runs from 7am to 12.30pm every Saturday from July 11.
