Banburyshire residents invited to hear about bowel disease research

The free event on Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis - where the digestive system becomes inflamed, causing diarrhoea, stomach cramps and tiredness - will be held in Lecture Theatre 2, Academic Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital from 5.30pm - 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 4.

People with the conditions will speak about their experiences and clinicians will give presentations on the latest research, including genetic and environmental causes of IBD, drugs trials and a website for patients to record health data and share it with their doctors.

Attendees can also speak to representatives from charities Crohn’s and Colitis UK (CCUK) and Crohn's in Childhood Research Association (CICRA) about the support they offer and ask questions at a panel discussion with researchers.

The event will be hosted by the University of Oxford’s Gastroenterology Unit, with support from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
