Castle Quay's first Community Photography Competition was launched today (Monday) to celebrate the community spirit that has come alive in Banbury these past few months since the coronavirus emergency changed everyone's lives and expectations.

The centre is asking its shoppers to send them photographs of moments they have captured within the community, for the chance to win a prize. The category subject ‘community’ is quite broad, so shoppers can interpret it how they wish to - the more creative the better.

There will be three age categories for entries, including under 12s, under 15s and 16+/adults. All entries must be emailed to [email protected] before October 31, 2020. All entries will then be reviewed between November 3 - 11 by a board of judges from Castle Quay and the Banbury Camera Club.

Winners will be announced and contacted on November 13 and prizes will include a £50 Lock29 voucher for the adult category, a £25 H&M voucher for the under 15s category and a £25 The Entertainer voucher for the under 12s category.

Oliver Wren, Centre Director at Castle Quay Shopping Centre said, “There has been an incredible community spirit displayed in Banbury since the start of 2020 and we wanted to once again shine a light on this positive change.

"The ‘community’ category is deliberately broad so people can interpret it in any way they like. We’re hoping to see some creative and unusual shots from all ages. I can’t wait to review the final pieces alongside my fellow judges.”
