Banbury teen completes 10k fundraising challenge to help NHS

Charlie Evans, aged 15, completed his first ever 10k on Sunday May 17.
He took part in a strenuous training regime, which included running between 5 and 6k a day and spending two hours of boxing, trampolining with light weights for core, mobility and flexibility training.

Hide AdThe training also helps him stay flexible for javelin in which he’s top ten in the U.K. He represents Banbury Harriers Athletic Club. He also plays rugby for Banbury Rugby Club where he be doing the run on Sunday.
Charlie, a year 10 student North Oxfordshire Academy, started a GoFundMe web page for his fundraising challenge.

He raised £600 for the NHS through the 10k running challenge.

Hide AdCharlie said: "I decided to raise some money to buy meals for the staff of the NHS.
"I'm doing this to give a little back to the NHS because I'm type 1 diabetic, diagnosed when I was 2 years old. They have helped me over the years and now I can pay them back a little.
"I'm not a runner and I've never run more than 5k so this will be a challenge for me."
