The store packed up lunches for doctors, nurses and others in the hospital and delivered them to the Oxford Road hospital last Friday.

The gesture was a big 'thank you' to the NHS teams in town.

The dontations were made by Aldi, in conjunction with its food-to-go supplier, Greencore, and comprised a selection of Aldi sandwiches to help fuel their hard working team for the afternoon.

Aldi has donated hundreds of sandwiches to ten different hospitals across the UK.

Gail Williams, from Horton General Hospital Charity, said: "Staff are working around the clock here at Horton General Hospital and so the gesture of donating sandwiches to our team is really appreciated."
