Banbury rail users advised to check Christmas trains to plan journeys over the festive period

On Christmas Eve, Sunday, December24, services finish earlier than normal. Customers are advised to travel as early as possible and anticipate some short notice cancellations. In addition, services between London Marylebone - Oxford are expected to be busier than usual owing to engineering works at London Paddington.

On Boxing Day, Tuesday, December 26, Chiltern will be running a special 30-minute service between London Marylebone - Oxford Parkway between approximately 08:00 and 22:00. The stations served will be Wembley Stadium, Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Princes Risborough, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway.
On Wednesday, December 27, Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone - Oxford are expected to be busier due to engineering works at London Paddington. In addition, no services will run between London Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway via Amersham. Buses will replace trains between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Amersham for connections to the London Underground.
On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, no trains will run between London Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway via Amersham due to maintenance work. Buses will run between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Beaconsfield for connections with train services to/from London Marylebone.

On New Year’s Day, due to engineering works between Birmingham – London Euston, services are expected to be busier. Most trains between Birmingham Moor Street - London Marylebone will be formed of more carriages than usual. Rail replacement buses will serve Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth on this day.
