Shaun was from Cornwall, but moved to Banbury when he was 11, which was when Tristan and Shaun became inseparable and remained best friends for life.

Tristan plans to cycle the distance 236-mile distance from Banbury to Cornwall on his Peloton bike over the weekend of June 20-21.

Not a day goes by when I don’t think of his smile."

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is dedicated to fighting for those living with Cystic Fibrosis and supporting their families every step of the way.

Tristan said: "Throughout lockdown I have been doing a fair amount of exercise on my Peloton bike, which is a static indoor bike.

"The distance itself is a challenge, but the mental challenge given I am not moving and stuck on a static bike will probably be just as bad.

"To clarify, I am not a cyclist either, I have never ridden on the roads and certainly never cycled this distance.

Tristan's partner's father, Dario Maestri, will be doing a similar cycling challenge, but on the real roads of Northern Italy.

Dario will be cycling between Pavia in Lombardy to Liguria and back (if restrictions allow, if not the route will be a circular route within Lombardy).

Tristan said: "Shaun had a big impact on everyone he met, including my partner's dad (Dario), who met Shaun on what happened to be his last ever holiday, in beautiful Lake Como."
