Local balloon artist Kerry Jay Binns of Come To My Party was asked by Victoria Beckham last weekend to make two balloon models of her husband David Beckham for his birthday plus some other decorative helium balloons to decorate their home.

Come To My Party’s owner Kerry Jay said: “It was great fun to make. I make a lot of balloons for birthdays in the area, but this was the biggest footballer I have made to date and the first in the Miami International kit!

"It was certainly fun to create David in balloon form!

"I was originally asked to just provide a few helium balloons for their home, but after Victoria saw a Manchester United balloon I had made on my Instagram page (@CometomypartyUK) she wondered if I could make a larger one of David in his Miami International kit. Challenge accepted!"

Kerry made the delivery in time for David Beckham's birthday celebrations over weekend. He turned 46 on May 2. He is the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF.

Victoria Beckham showed her appreciation for the balloon versions of her husband by posting a picture of him with them on her Instagram page. The image of David Beckham with the mini balloon versions himself was also featured in a national news story in the Daily Mail over the weekend.

Like many other businesses, Come To My Party had to adapt quickly when the Covid restrictions hit.

The company was very popular locally as children's party entertainer prior to the restrictions last year with lots of dancing, games, magic, and entertainment. But when the parties stopped that didn't mean that birthdays were cancelled so Kerry switched the business to making and delivering balloon creations instead.

After her previous career in West End theatre Kerry was used to adapting and has embraced the new challenges. She actually trained with Victoria Beckham at theatre college Laine Theatre Arts, although a couple of years apart so never actually took classes together.
