Jason Kattenhorn, the creator of Sassify Zine - a non-profit LGBTQ+ culture magazine, took home the award for 'Cultural Magazine of the Year' at the Prestige awards 2020/2021. The Prestige awards celebrate small and independent businesses that are excelling in their field.

To celebrate, Jason Kattenhorn, the editor-in-chief of Sassify Zine, has set up a Queer Creative fund. The fund will give away £250 to a selected LGBTQ+ artist. The fund is specifically for those who identify as LGBTQ+.

Jason (He and Him) said: ''The £250 comes from my own pocket, as well as from the sales of the zines, as I continue to challenge myself to transfer the benefits of my own privilege to those who are lacking it.

"I started Sassify Zine five years ago as a way to showcase my illustration work, whilst I navigated my own queer journey. Queer art is an accessible instrument we can all use to give everyone the tools to become better allies.

"Sassify has challenged me creatively, and has taught me to challenge everything I thought I knew about the LGBTQ+ community.

"I hope that the creative fund can benefit another LGBTQ+ person as they navigate their own journey.''
