Heidi Yates, Peggy's granddaughter, said: "Yesterday (Sunday September 13) was absolutely perfect. The weather shone brightly for us. We aren’t a huge family, but we are so lucky and grateful that we could come together and all be able to spend the day together.

"We managed to arrange a zoom call with my nan's sister in the in the Isle of Wight (IOW) and her nephews from across the UK. We also were able to arrange a further zoom call to my auntie (nan's daughter) in America and also my aunties children."

Many people came from the village to wish her well and they all got together to sing her happy birthday.

Heidi added: "Having my nan reach this milestone is just incredible. It’s been a tough year with having a virus like we have around, just hoping and praying she stays safe, even when she had a spell in hospital earlier in the year. We just kept everything crossed. But she’s a tough cookie, and always smiles her way through everything. We are most definitely a lucky family."
