Banbury area pub delivers 300 meals to NHS staff at Horton Hospital

A Banbury area pub has cooked and delivered 300 meals for NHS staff at the Horton Hospital.

Scott Pemberton and his team at the Fox pub in Farthinghoe near Banbury delivered the meals today, Wednesday January 13.

He said: "We thought of the idea as we are a small community village, and it would be great to give up a little bit of our time to help the people that are helping us.

"We’ve had some good donations from people in the village, and we want to say 'Thank You' to the NHS, and this is our way of doing it."

The meals included a mixture of cold meals which could be heated up such as sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry with rice, vegetable curry with rice and beef stew with dumplings.

Scott added: "We chose these as they are all hearty meals with proteins and veg. We're doing cold mixed pastas in case they don’t have time to eat them."

They NHS meals also include donuts, chocolate cake, brownies and fruit pancakes."

The Fox at Farthinghoe is also open for takeaway services to the public this Friday evening and all day Sunday.
