Enterprising young bakers cooked up a mouthwatering array of cakes and buns to raise over £300 for a Banbury animal rescue charity.

Led by Hornton teenager Ruby Short, the five baking chums, all students at Warriner School in Bloxham, cooked up the event themselves and sold their creations at Hornton's Methodist chapel.

Along with a tombola and donation box, the tempting treats attracted the much-needed funds for BARKS - Banbury Animal Rescue & Kindness Service.

The team also supported the chapel itself, which is raising its profile to stay open and active as a versatile community hub.
