Appeal launched after man injured in 'unprovoked attack' in Banbury

Thames Valley Police have launched an appeal for information in assault police are calling an 'unprovoked attack' on a man in Banbury.

Police are looking for information in connection with an incident of grievous bodily harm in a neighbourhood in Banbury.

The victim was assaulted by three males inside and outside a property in Gillett Road at about 10.30pm on Thursday May 14.

The offenders are described as three white males, who were armed with weapons.

The victim sustained a one inch puncture wound to his upper left arm.

He was treated at hospital but has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Joseph Stevenson said: “We are conducting a thorough investigation into this unprovoked attack on a young man.

"We are talking to local residents to take witness statements as well as obtaining and reviewing CCTV.

“However, we need help from the public to find the perpetrators, therefore if you have any footage such as CCTV or dash cam then please contact the force."

Anyone with information which could help police then leave the details on their website, using the crime reference number 43200142680.
