Home Instead Senior Care North Oxfordshire Christmas campaign asks people to donate gifts this December which their staff will deliver to seniors in the community throughout the holiday season. The initiative is now in its fourth year.

The Deddington-based company recommends small gifts which older people will appreciate including puzzles, toiletries and confectionary.

These gifts will be distributed to seniors throughout the local community who may not otherwise receive any presents this Christmas.

Home Instead provides home care to seniors throughout north Oxfordshire, with services ranging from home help and companionship to specialist dementia and post-operation care. Although their clients are lucky enough to have companionship and company all year round, they recognise many are not that fortunate.

The campaign gives something special to local seniors who may experience isolation throughout the winter months. All presents will be left for 72 hours and delivered to local seniors in a secure, contactless manner, ensuring that they aren’t put at risk.

Graham Holtom, owner of Home Instead North Oxfordshire comments: “We are so excited to be launching our ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign again this year. This is our fourth year, and each year we see the campaign bring festive joy to local seniors.

“We know not all elderly people are lucky enough to have family visit them at Christmas or receive any gifts, so this is our way of giving back to the seniors in our community who may not be so fortunate. The winter months, paired with increasing social restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, may see many seniors experiencing isolation this Christmas, with family members potentially unable to visit.

“By gifting local seniors with a small present, we are able to remind them that their local community is here for them, hopefully bringing a smile to their face.”

Gifts can be delivered to Home Instead offices between 8am - 5pm, Mon - Fri, at Home Farm Works, Clifton Road, Deddington or call 01295 237237.
