A Rainbows unit now has its own flag, thanks to a kind-hearted dad.
Neil Hancox was watching his daughter, Charleigh, marching with the 1st Hardwick Rainbows in Banbury’ St George’s Day parade in April, when he realised that the unit did not have a flag.
So he decided to help them out. On September 8, when the unit met for the first time after the summer break, the girls finally had their own flag, thanks to Mr Hancock’s company, Work Area Ltd,
Neil said: “It was nice to be able to give a little something back into the community.”
Unit leader Mandy Skuce said: “I would like to say a really big thank you to Neil and Work Area Ltd for the very kind donation of a unit flag.
“I had wanted to get a flag but, with being a new unit, money is tight, so when Neil asked about donating a flag I was delighted that his company would do for this for our unit. The girls are really pleased and are looking forward to our next parade.”
