Staff at Kineton Playgroup and After School Club had the best Christmas present they could ask for after getting the highest mark possible in an Ofsted inspection.
Based at the village’s primary school on King John’s Road, the playgroup was judged ‘outstanding’ in all four categories following an inspection on December 17.
This included meeting the needs of children, contribution to their well-being, and effectiveness of leadership and management. The result is an improvement to their previous Ofsted inspection about four years ago.
Sally Flynn, administrator at Kineton Playgroup Ltd, said: “The playgroup staff would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our success over the past few years – volunteers, parents and most of all, children. We look forward to enjoying many more happy times in the future.”
In the Ofsted report it said staff ‘expertly support children’s communication and language skills, and their personal, social and emotional development, during daily routines and activities’.
It added: “The daily outdoor experiences provided for the children are exemplary. As a result, children’s physical development is promoted exceptionally well and they are rapidly extending their understanding of the natural world.”
