Online survey to guide the future of sport and recreation facilities
Cherwell District Council is looking for the public’s help in guiding future improvements across the local area and participants will be asked how often they use the amenities, what improvements could be made and what could be done to encourage people to use the site more regularly.
George Reynolds, Cherwell’s deputy leader, said: “There has been a lot of talk about the new houses and jobs which will be created across Cherwell over the next few years but the growth of the district goes beyond that.
“While homes and employment are obviously important, so are the other factors which contribute to happy lifestyles and that includes sport and recreational activities.
“Whether it’s a fitness class in a leisure centre or a stroll or jog around the park, we want to know just how popular these amenities are and how they are being used.”
The anonymous survey has been split into three parts: the first asks for views on the number of available facilities while the second section focuses on sports and physical activities. The final part focuses on open spaces.
Among the questions asked are how and why people use specific spaces, what attracts them to it and what problems they may have encountered. Additionally, people can rank different facilities in order of importance.Visit www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CherwellOpenSpacesandSportsFacilities.
