'˜Old Blokes' raise £2,000 in support of friend battling pancreatic cancer

A group of 13, calling themselves Old Blokes on Bikes, took on the 50km Hell of the North Cotswolds, in Gloucestershire.
Their attempt was in support of OBOBs member Mike Everitt, from Hook Norton who is battling the disease. He was due to take part but after undergoing surgery in March, he wasn’t fit enough.

Hide AdOBOB member, Jo Green, also from Hook Norton, who completed the race in just over five hours, said it had been a tough challenge, but an inspirational day.

She said: “There was a great team spirit and we’re really delighted to have raised more than £2,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund – double the target set by Mike.
“Although Mike couldn’t ride with us on the day, he was definitely there in spirit. When we sent a victory video of the team doing a Mexican wave, he sent his own Mexican wave straight back from his hospital bed! He was particularly pleased that his son, Tom, was one of the first OBOBs over the finish line.”
