The amount was raised last year by the nursery holding Easter competitions, toy sales, dressing up days and a games week. Children from the nursery visited the hospital on April 16 to deliver the wheelchairs to Zoe Butler, ward manager, who was delighted.

She said the chairs would be useful to transport children too sick to walk to and from surgery, x-ray and therapy.
