As the season of goodwill approaches, a new foodbank in Bodicote means those in need will not go without over the festive season.
Non-perishable items and toiletries donated to the collection point at Barratt Homes’ Longford Park development will be distributed by Banbury Salvation Army.
The company’s West Midlands managng director Adrian Farr said: “We believe no-one should go hungry and as Christmas is a time of giving we hope the generosity of local people will means everyone gets enough to eat.”
A Salvation Army spokesman said: “Many families will be under acute finanical pressure but with help we can continue to provide emergency food parcels and immediate practical assistance.”
Donations should be non-perishable such as powdered milk, tinned vegetables, rice, pasta, jam, biscuits, tea and coffee. Other useful items include sanitary products and toiletries.
