Residents in Brackley and across South Northamptonshire will benefit from a range of improved public services out of the new community building The Forum.
Based in Towcester, the new South Northamptonshire Council offices will feature self-service computers in The Atrium – the open-plan area on the ground floor of the new building – to provide access to information and a range of council services complemented by an electronic payment system.
The service frees up time for customer service officers to speak to those who do not have a computer and need to talk face-to-face.
Customers will also be able to explore the new Towcester library when it opens its doors for the first time today (Thursday). Based at The Forum on Moat Lane, it will continue to provide all of the services available at its former building in Richmond Road and will benefit from 7,000 new books.
To celebrate the opening of The Forum, members of the community will take part in a ‘human chain’ to pass the very last book to be moved from the old library to the new site on Saturday.
The Forum will also become a new community hub and will host a number of adult learning courses, including dress making, sign language and digital photography.
Call into The Forum to find out more about the courses on offer and to collect a £5 voucher towards the cost of a summer course,
