Hollywood came calling at a Banbury primary school last week as pupils got a rare glimpse of what goes on
behind the lens.

St Mary’s Primary School welcomed Sim Evan Jones, film editor of the first two films from the Narnia Chronicles.

The former Warriner School pupil shared clips from the Narnia films, talked about his job and took part in a question and answer session.

Year 5 pupil Oscar Poulton said: “It was a totally awesome experience, it has made me think about going into film making when I’m older.”

The visit was the culmination of a whole school creative writing project.

The classes transformed areas of the school into scenes inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

He said “It was great to meet the children of St Mary’s and see their beautiful artwork and read their stories; they had even composed a Haiku.

“It was like going back to Narnia all over again. They were so attentive and full of brilliant questions.”
