Mum and baby rescued after collision on Broughton Road, Banbury

A mother and baby miraculously escaped serious injury when the car in which they were travelling ended up in a ditch after a collision on the Broughton Road, Banbury today (Tuesday).

The mum and her infant were taken to the Horton General Hospital for checks but neither was injured.

The collision, between two cars, happened shortly after 8.30am outside the Pick Your Own on the B4035 Banbury-Shipston Road. Police, fire and ambulance attended.

David Gallagher, spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.38am following a two car collision which resulted in one car coming off the road and ending up in a ditch. We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene.

“The occupants of the car that remained on the road were uninjured. The occupants of the car that came off the road – a mother and baby – were also uninjured but taken to the Horton as a precaution for further checks due to the nature of their accident.”
