Minor damage in county caused by Storm Doris

High winds caused by Storm Doris have caused minor damage across Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue and highways teams have been dealing with a series of small incidents such as uprooted trees and fallen signposts.

Highways crews have dealt with more than 40 reported instances of fallen trees or branches.

The worst of the weather has hit areas of the UK further north and west of Oxfordshire though high winds have been experienced in the county since this morning.

Motorists are reminded to take extra care in this evening’s Oxfordshire peak commuter time and public transport users are advised to check with rail and bus companies to be fully aware of any travel impacts.

Met Office weather warnings for high winds in Oxfordshire remain in place until 8pm this evening.

There are currently no weather warnings for following days.
