Katharine House Hospice enjoyed a fundraising stampede as walkers from all around the area joined the ninth Midnight Walk at the weekend.
More than 300 walkers strode out as part of an effort that raised £40,000 for hospice funds. They were guided around the course and offered drinks by 150 volunteers.
There was a Hawaiian theme with many walkers donning flower garlands, grass skirts and coconut bras.
Walker and hospice volunteer Irene Caparros said: “I had not lived here long when my father-in-law was taken seriously ill and I was totally blown away by the quality of care he received.
“This is my first Midnight Walk but I have done the Santa Fun Run and I volunteer regularly. I really enjoyed the evening and will definitely be doing it again next year.”
Marshall Ashley Stevens said: “I see the fantastic work the hospice does and wanted to help in my own small way.”
The hospice cares for over 800 patients a year at the hospice and in patients’ homes.
