Middleton Cheney Church targeted in lead theft.

Police are asking for extra vigilance around churches after two were subject to lead theft in the past week; one in Middleton Cheney and the other in Thenford.

A significant amount of lead was removed from the scenes which caused additional damage including a head stone being badly damaged.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity in either of the two villages in recent days to contact police.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
