Men accused of Banbury fair stabbing plead not guilty

Two men have pleaded not guilty in court over the stabbing of two other men at a fair in Banbury.

The two victims, aged 64 and 36, sustained stab wounds during an altercation at a fairground on Ruscote Avenue on July 25.

Tom East, 27, of no fixed abode, and Gary Woodwards, 25, of Middleton Road, Banbury, were both charged with two counts of wounding with intent.

Woodwards was also charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Friday (August 24) and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

They were remanded in custody ahead of a trial at Oxford Crown Court on January 7.

Samantha Halliday was also charged with two counts of wounding with intent.

The 26-year-old woman, of Horton Drive, Banbury, is due to appear at Banbury Magistrates Court on Thursday (August 30).
