Waitrose staff member Helen Goldstein, who is currently writing a book about horse whispering, owns a donkey and a horse on her farm in Hinton-in-the-Hedges, which have recently given birth to a mule.

The branch ran a competition inviting the children of staff members to name the mule, which was won by 10-year-old Miya Walton, who named her Matilda.

Miya also won a toy mule and got a chance to meet Matilda.
