Great British Bake Off host Mary Berry was all smiles yesterday (Thursday) as she visited Upton House & Gardens to open their latest exhibition.
‘The Bank that beat the Blitz’ will see visitors transport back to wartime Britain to experience the National Trust attraction when 22 bank staff made it their home and where they slept in shared dormitories.
Mrs Berry was given a tour around the exhibition with Upton House staff before she unveiled the exhibition and declared it open to the public.
A total of 12 rooms will be recreated to present a complelling picture of what life was like for the bank staff as war raged.
