A 26-year-old man is in hospital with suspected knife wounds to his stomach after an attack in Banbury town centre this morning (Friday).
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Thames Valley Police were called to North Bar Street in Banbury at about 8.25am to reports of an assault.
A police spokesperson said: “A 26-year-old man had been assaulted and sustained a serious injury to his stomach which is thought to have been caused by a knife.
“He is currently at the John Radcliffe Hospital receiving treatment.
“A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent. She is currently in custody.
“A scene watch is in place and officers are in the area conducting enquiries.”
